Celebrating Black History Month 2025 Through Poetry
The 2025 Black History Month theme invites us to celebrate culture, resilience, and storytelling. Poetry has always been at the heart of resistance and expression in Black communities. From Harlem Renaissance writers to today’s spoken word performers, the tradition of poetry is a way of preserving history while creating new narratives.
At our Black History Month poetry open mic, performers will be encouraged to share work inspired by heritage, identity, love, hope, and the power of community.
