Spoken Word Poetry Open Mic London. At Hidden Literature, we believe in the power of words to bring people together. Spoken word poetry is more than just self-expression—it’s a bridge between experiences, perspectives, and communities. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with Steps to Togetherness, an initiative by Civil Society Consulting, to bring a special poetry night to SOAS University on Thursday, 6th March 2025.

This event is about connection, creativity, and community. So, whether you’re a seasoned poet, first-time writer, or simply a lover of spoken word, this night is for you. Expect a vibrant open mic, creative poetry workshop, meaningful conversations, and a welcoming space to share your voice.

We’ll also be mindful of those observing Ramadan, serving food and drinks at the start of the event, so we can break fast together before stepping into an evening of poetry and storytelling.

Let’s turn words into bridges and stories into experiences of Togetherness.

Location: SU JCR, SOAS SU, SOAS, 10 Thornhaugh Street, London WC1H 0XG

Our Partnership with Steps to Togetherness

At Hidden Literature, we’re passionate about creating spaces where voices can be heard, stories can be shared, and communities can grow. We’ve always championed the power of poetry and spoken word to connect people, and this collaboration with Steps to Togetherness is an extension of that vision.

Steps to Togetherness, led by Civil Society Consulting, is a community initiative designed to combat isolation and division. Their 32 Steps to Togetherness project is all about building stronger relationships within and across communities—and what better way to do that than through poetry?

This event at SOAS University is about more than just spoken word. It’s about bringing together people from different walks of life, celebrating unity, creativity, and the power of shared experiences.
