MY WORD Open Mic – Black History Month Celebration
Join us for a special Black History Month edition of Hidden Literature MY WORD. An intimate open mic night showcasing some of London’s finest musicians, poets, and spoken word artists. You can look forward to hip hop, R&B, neo soul, poetry and spoken word performances at our open mic night! This is your chance to share your voice, art, and stories with a supportive community. Whether you’re an experienced poet or musician, or new to the stage, we invite you to come and express yourself through poetry centred on Black history, success, culture, identity, and the resilience of the Black experience.
We want to hear it all — from your reflections on the past to your dreams for the future. Do you have a poem or song that speaks to the power of Black culture or the struggles of identity? Bring it. Have words that celebrate Black success or honour the hardships overcome? We welcome you to the mic.
Hosted by poet, photographer, and music producer Ovyuki, prepare yourself for a deep night filled with good music, and vibes.
Tag us in your poetry about Blackness for a chance to be featured on our social media. This is a space to amplify your voice, celebrate community, and be inspired.
